Secure-Lite Barriers are created using a single pane of laminated glass (.090 inner layer 5/16 laminated). This glass will not scratch like lexan products, and it won’t fog like common double-pane impact windows.
Double-pane glass is an expensive problem waiting to happen. Whether it breaks or fogs, the labor to replace double-pane units is incredibly expensive, and the danger of harming the window system itself becomes more likely.
Secure-Lite Windows will not fog like common double pane windows, and if the Secure-Lite pane is ever damaged during a storm, the replacement cost is only a fraction of the cost of most other protection systems, and the labor is so simple that many homeowners could do it themselves.
